How does advertising influence consumption?

Advertising is made by advertiser that used all the advertising techniques, like using modeling, cool images, and celebrity involves, to make us, the costumers buy or influence it. By showing us all the good side of the product not thinking or demonstrating the impact from each part of the product. For example, if they are using celebrity involvement in an advert, we would think that we really need to buy this, so we can look like the celebrity or look cool like them. Actually not.

Do you think citizens are sufficiently informed about the sustainability of our consumption habits? If not, how can we become more informed about sustainability issues?

For this question, I think that the citizens are not sufficiently informed or impact about the sustainability of our purchasing habits. Why? Because all of the advertisements every day we are seeing making us want to buy more and more which are not necessary. How?Government wouldn't stop the companies to sell more things and make more money so they collects the taxes. This is the government decision, they could make a form and make the seller to fill out, what are their products do, how they are use, is is sustainable, something like those. By this idea, they can still collect the taxes and make companies to give out better and more sustainable things. To change to that big decision, first we need to change our way of purchasing things. Purchase things that are necessary.

Do you think these advertising techniques influence what you and your friends purchase?

Yes, I think so, for celebrity involvement, on the top I had already explained, but just simply like eating a kid meal, it would always include with a toy or some promotion that the kid will use. Well, from that we could see the children just wanted the toy more than the food. In there head, they would think: “Well yeah, let’s eat this and I will get the superman toy. Awesome, the food is okay…” They won’t really eat it, the main purpose is just getting the toy.

The thing is that advertisements are things that makes us to DO something without knowing the bad side of it.

Migration/ Immigration Assessment - Blog Post #8

Dear friends & trees,

Today is 10^th of August, I just knew the news, I am relocating myself next week. We are not moving outskirt, but to Vietnam, where there is more CO₂. CO₂ is one of the greenhouse gases, that is the problem. We are living in Los Angeles, America, where there is a lot of pure oxygen; we are making failure this year. They said that we will make a better benefit next year. My mom said that there would be more precipitation in Vietnam, and my dad said there would be fewer earthquakes in HCM city. From social studies class last week, I would say we would stay away from the Ring of Fire, and weather will be much better for us. I think I will fit there no matter what, because there would be the same thing as here, peaceful and friendly (as I heard). Better yet, I am sitting in a 5 star jet, with my other cousins; we were sponsor by the Trees Government Organization. Anyway, I will miss you guys a lot, no matter what. SISTARS 3I.

I don't know where I am going, but just help you figuring it!

Today is 21^st of August, it is much cloudy and more CO_2, I can feel my lungs grow and shrink. Do you want to hear about Vietnam? I think you do. Vietnam, here, is crowded-cruel place, if you are standing in a crowded street of HCM city. It is an urban area, but I visited some area, rural there are nicely paint like a masterpiece. I had to flee over the street every time I need to get to the opposite side-walks. Life here is complicated. Water is polluted, can not run-off easily when heavy rains come. I believe in peace, so someday something will come to me. We’re making more crops and profit this months, come here and energy just fly into me, not just me, but others, too. I am scared, SISTarS 9l, people are cutting branches every second of the day, I can’t stand it. People are releasing bad things on our roots, which kept us sucking others nutrition near us. Vietnamese have no manners, they don’t know where the trash goes, and they just throw any kind of garbage under our shadows. I am miserable that they will cut me down at night. Luckily, I met Emily. She has helped me out since I came. She showered me everyday with cold water-which I really like, since there was no cold rain here. She had made me a star for me to wish me good luck and safety. I felt great about it. Learning to interact here is easy, just last night, I have been getting used to the street and people here. I have got to go now, shopping time. SISTARS 3l.

HOMEWORK

1. The Earth is warming up by greenhouse gases, that causes the extreme weather and climate change.

2. - Preception: an order or command you have to follow

    - Conteding: struggling or competing

    - Intense: strong or high degree

    - Perception: understanding or apprehending

3. The difference is that weather is climate that we experience day-to-day, short period, but on the other side climate are weathers that describe a region for a long period of time.

4.-Worst flood in pakistan

   -In the US, flooding battered new England, then recode-breaking heat wave baked the entire eastern part of the country.

   -A record-breaking heat wave along with a recode-breaking drought destroyed millions of acres.

5.These day, in Ho Chi Minh city, it is having the extreme weather, because it has big rain everyday now, and not weekend, causing some district to flood. These are extreme rain I have ever been in my whole life since 1997.

6. Perception: to understand or to apprehending.

7. I think it is not good at all, people are not educated are causing more of it, they just don’t care or don’t even know, it would be more useful if the government has given the possible solution to the people in the countries.

MONKEY R. GNIKMOD SHORT STORY - Blog Entry #5

Monkey Rainbow Gnikmod is an island which is surrounded by Mars Monkey Sea. Across the sea, there is another island called Barbie Dlrow. These two islands are located in Mars Monsoon Craters II. It is also surrounded by carbon-dioxide and banadrytes, which is banana and oxygen. Let’s flashback!

In 2013 BC, the M land and B-head land were form, shortly monkeys started to formed, and they also formed rainbow bow. That’s how the island was renamed from Mars Monkey to Monkey Rainbow. These monkeys are allergy to water, if they touch water, they will be death in 3 days which is 300 days on Earth. So, in 15973, there was a big flood, many monkeys died. Luckily, there were no water left, it was all dried, and that’s when the population had increased. On the other hand Barbie need thousand liters of water to survived, if not they will just pop out smaller and smaller barbies every 5 milliseconds.
In 17346, a monkey born out a Barbie, and that small girl mess up the whole town, so she was exile out to the Barbie land, which were not separated yet. Then, suddenly, she forbidden herself to not drink water, and that’s how she had enough Barbies to join the civil war. Unluckily, they lost. Thousands of years laters, human entered to Monkey R. Gnikmod, and tourist began. There another wars between human and monkeys because human want to colonized the craters. They also lost, because monkeys had better technology.

In the present day now, the tectonic plate moves, and Barbie Dlrow had relocated to the west of Monkey R. Gnikmod. In this world, the transportations are helicopter and air shoes. The only way is flying. These transportation are all used carbon-hydrates to run. Because of allergic, monkeys live far away from the river- the middle of the M. There are not so many lakes, but there are a lot and lot of trees. Trees goes around, and if you find their parents, you will be free to enter anyplace for tree days, which means three days. In this world, people speak 11 language including Mars. They speak one language per word, and if you are annoyed they will just speak in one language that you won’t understand them.
For tourist, you would only like to go to the south-west side, where there is a lot of entertaining areas. Where you will find the happiness place is the Animal River. You need to wake earlier in the morning, and see it yourself. At almost 6 o’ clock, all the animals on mars will swim to this river, and you can stand on the bridge to explode them. Only happen once a day, wish you a pleasant trip. Thank you!

WHAT I HAD LEARNED - Blog Entry #3

After all the amazing presentation, I had learned a lot about my friends. How to make a bond with others? Some people’s lives are not easy at all, but they still survive.

The thing is that there is not just one and official Vietnamese culture, but they have a lot more. There are big similarities and small differences, but still we are all Vietnamese.

Education was also very important, some had been studied in other country, and some had to go to Vietnamese government school. There are also a lot of suffering and fun in each school.

I had a learned a lot for myself, and everyone did, too. Before these presentations started, no one would know about each other except their best friends. I was very surprise some of the students in my class are great great great great great sons and daughter of our famous generals. It was amazing, as I said, I learned about Vietnamese culture more, and others had learned about Chinese, American, etc. The important thing is we are all in the same culture, our AIS culture, we are learning everyday.

Describe a place/region that you have live/been in. Talk about at least 3 physical characteristics and 2 human/environment interactions.

Every two years, I had to visit my grandmother in San Jose, USA. According to me, the climate had not really change.At dusk and dawn, it's always chill and cold, but as time pass to noon, it's get really hot. San Jose to me, I think it's like an dessert, where it's cold at dusk and hot as sun come up. There's not many people, not a crowd city, but people there is very nice and friendly. On the highway or the freeway, you will see a very huge picture of cars. You won't be able to see a tiny space, well except for like a little space behind each other cars.There are also some rivers and some small mountains, that's why live around here is much better, not like Las Vegas - a polluted city. The soil from the river and the mountain helps them grow foods so they have enough for themselves and export.
That is the physical and human/environment interactons of San Jose.

Something I Should Tell You (Blog Entry #1)

Hi, Mr. Blake, this is Emily 8P1. I will tell you about something interesting. Last year, in History class, we spent most time on Europe, and we have a lot of fun. Especially when I learned about Queen Elizabeth only take shower three times in her life (first time- when she was born, second - on her 23[i think]'s birthday, and last - on a special festival or something), and she said that, "the more we are dirty, the longer we live." But she only lived until she was 53. I thought it was funny, but I believe that. I like learning weird things, like the example, but I don't like study in the book. I am a visualize and a kinesthetic learner, and I always do weird thing, so if I am crazy sometimes, please forgive me. I hope that I would have weird stuff to learn about in Geography and Culture, too. Let's have a fun year together (I hope, and I will try =]).
